Four sizes; 3 ft. (.9 m), 4 ft. (1.2 m), 5 ft. (1.5 m), and 7 ft. (2.1 m) are offered as standard heights (larger sizes are available on custom orders). The 5 ft. (1.5 m) and 7 ft. (2.1 m) equipment are the most commonly used sizes.  The 7ft. equipment is more legible from the towplane, and can be seen at a greater distance from the towplane than the 5ft. equipment. But the tow load of the 7ft. (2.1m) equipment is greater than the 5ft. (1.5m) size. Therefore, more 5ft. (1.5m) letters can be pulled, but are less visible. Aircraft capability will determine which size is most appropriate for the aircraft used.

Three foot (.9m) and four foot (1.2m) letters are adequate for towing along beaches where low towing altitudes are permitted. We do not recommend these two sizes for towing at 1,000ft. (300m) because their legibility is not adequate for viewing.

Letters are made of high-strength, light weight nylon material, and
offered in two standard colors: red and black. Custom colors are
provided to meet individual preferences and permit the mixing of
colors. Different size letters may be used in the same sign for
EMPHASIS!!!!!

Letters (A-Z), numbers (1-9), large punctuation marks (&, $, ?, !, #, %, (), +, /, £), small punctuation marks (dash, period, comma, apostrophe),
double punctuation marks (colon, semi-colon, quotes, equal sign), the
Greek alphabet, Hebrew alphabet, and accented characters of all
languages (Ñ, Å, Ä, É, Ø, Ü) are offered to meet the banner requirements in most languages.

Each sign element in an Artcraft Aerial Banner is a separate unit. This allows
for the components to be assembled, torn down and re-arranged over and over again, offering years of use.  The characters are sewn onto
individual supporting straps that connect together.

Signs are assembled by connecting the elements of the message
together in a series. Each unit is joined to the one ahead of it by a
connector rod. The connector rods, made of fiberglass, also serve to
stiffen the sign vertically. The forward end of the sign is connected to a
mast assembly which leads the sign.  A tail assembly is attached to the
sign’s aft end to minimize flutter.
